Data Management Program – Geographic Information Systems
The Plumas National Forest (Forest Supervisor’s Office, Quincy CA, duty station) is advertising two full-time (40 hours per week) internship opportunities in the Data Management Program (May 31 – August 19, 2016). Interns will receive training and assignments designed to provide an understanding of geospatial processes, protocols and solutions used to support multi-disciplinary land and natural resource management decision making. Interns will work with specialists in several program areas (GIS, recreation, engineering, minerals) to collect and/or receive data. Data collection will involve field work approximately 50% of the time, and field work will entail traversing across uneven terrain and may require carrying moderately heavy field packs. Student interns will be employed by the Foundation for California Community Colleges during this internship opportunity on the national forest ($11.00 per hour). A valid driver license and clean driving record are required for this internship opportunity.
